With Mother’s Day just around the corner, we invited some of the special women in our lives to Wallis HQ to celebrate in style. There were plenty of laughs and a lot of love in our studio as we enjoyed a day of shooting our latest pieces and discussing all things family and fashion.
"My love for fashion began when I was 9 and my mum took me up to London for the day for the opening of a store in Kensington. I’ve never forgotten it as I returned with a love of clothes, make up, embellishment and colour!
Since becoming a mum myself, my style has become less trend driven and more about fashionable, comfortable and versatile silhouettes – I do love a degree of colour and print but very happy to wear neutrals with white being my favourite neutral colour!"
“My mum has definitely taught me to never wait for a special occasion to wear a great outfit! She’s super glamorous and would much rather be over dressed than underdressed and I totally agree with her. Mum’s top tip would be that lipstick is the most essential accessory to finish any look!”
“Versatility and practicality are so important to me since becoming a mum. I need outfits that can be dressed up or down, that go with trainers for the school run and heels for the office. Less so now, but when the kids were little, I wore a lot of prints - essential for hiding those sticky finger marks that appear just as you're trying to leave the house!
I set out to style my kids into picture-perfect models, but nowadays I normally let them choose what they want to wear as they take little notice of my advice! This has led to some pretty interesting outfit combinations coming down the stairs, not to mention trips to the supermarket in party dresses and tiaras!”
"Mum has always advised me to dress for my body shape, I’m very aware of what styles suit me and tend to stick to these! Her and my grandma have always advised me that more is more but my style is a little more muted."
